History of The Rosemont Family Owned Senior Living Communities
The Rush family has been involved in the managemant and construction of senior communities for over 30 years. In 1996 G. Barron Rush Jr. was one of the pioneers in building and developing a new type of elderly residential care facility, which is now referred to as an Assisted Living Community. Until that time, a nursing home was one of the few options available for residents that required assistance with the tasks of daily living. As the son of aging parents himself, Barron Rush felt that most nursing homes were too clinical and sterile feeling for his tastes. With that in mind, he designed and built his first Assisted Living community in the suburbs of Houston Texas with the focus on providing quality care in a warmer, home like setting. With that The Rosemont and its idea of a family owned business taking care of families in need was born. The first facility was so well received by the community, that Barron decided to expand this successful alternative into Louisiana & New Mexico.
For over a decade, the family owned & operated Rosemont Assisted Living Communities have provided care and comfort to thousands of residents and their families. From the ground up, Barron designed his facilities to have a home like feel. He hires employees that treat residents like their own family and not like patients. This focus on quality care, excellent food and entertaining activities has brought quality of living back to many residents who felt the best days were behind them. The result has been that residents live longer & happier lives.
From simple assistance to complete memory care, The Rosemont can provide for your parent the same quality care that was provided to Barron's own mother. Joann Rush lived in the Houston facility for over 2 years after her battle with brain cancer. She was married to George Rush Sr. who founded Rosemont's parent company in 1958 (Barron Builders & Management).
Barron's son Gerod Rush came on board with the family business in 2007 after a successful career in bank management. Gerod says that "Families are what Assisted Living is really all about". He is now the third generation of the Rush family that has had the opportunity to play an important role in providing care to Rosemont residents. That is why Rosemont Assisted Living can proudly say that we are family owned & family operated -
